Municipal mobility data - The role of the municipality and municipal enterprises between data sovereignty and the economy

Data generated in connection with mobility by citizens, road users or by infostructure providers are diverse and coveted. Because the value of these is known today not only by commercial enterprises. Especially if they are accessible across silos. But there is also a great tension here between municipal (data) sovereignty, service offers and quality for citizens, the protection of personal data and economic interests. In this context, data form the basis for fast, intelligent, individual and sustainable mobility in urban and suburban areas. But what role must municipalities and municipal utilities, which are often central partners and providers in public transport, play here? What do municipalities have to do, what does business have to do, and how can this area of conflict be resolved with the goal of smart mobility and maximum service?

To this end, we would like to get to know the two views in two impulses. On the one hand, the more economic view and, on the other hand, the municipal view of data and services, in order to discuss these in a panel afterwards.
