polisMOBILITY sees itself as a meeting place for all experts and interested citizens who are concerned with the question of how cities and municipalities must shape the mobility turnaround in order to continue to make life in conurbations desirable for residents in the future.
polisMOBILITY is not a communicative one-way street. We focus on dialogue - and that across sectors. This means that we offer the space and the opportunity for a network engineer from the telecommunications sector, for example, to discuss the topic of mobility with a transport expert from the municipal administration. The goal: innovative exchange of ideas through which approaches to solutions for the mobility revolution can be found and developed.
Dialogue between citizens, businesses and politics
As those directly affected by the increasing immobility in cities, citizens will also have their say during polisMOBILITY. In a dialogue between associations, cities, universities and companies, residents of cities and municipalities are invited to discuss possible solutions that will be fundamental for sustainable mobility in our metropolises and municipalities in the future.
In the heart of Cologne's city centre on Rudolfplatz, citizens have the opportunity to discuss mobility topics directly on site with citizens' initiatives and institutions. The discussion forum takes place in appropriately converted construction trailers and is divided into the following six topic areas:
- Technological dimensions of the traffic turnaround
- The bicycle as a climate-friendly alternative
- Sustainable mobility of goods/sustainable food supply
- Design of public space
- Transformation design
- Intermodality/public transport
But that is not all. Visitors can experience and try out the future world of mobility at first hand on Rudolfplatz. Exhibitors will present innovative mobility solutions to touch. You can find more information in the polisMOBILITY Experience section.
