cityHUB – the vibrant mobility station in the heart of Cologne

Whether e-bike, cargo bike or electric car sharing: right in the heart of the cathedral city, visitors to polisMOBILITY experienced the mobility turnaround up close together with the locals in Cologne. For this purpose, the cityHUB had a large selection of modern vehicles for local mobility with alternative and emission-free drives ready.

A circular route was offered especially for two-wheelers: The route started with a car lane converted into a comfortable cycle lane on the Cologne rings. It continued for a short stretch on Palmstrasse. Finally, the course ended along the Friesenwall, which had been converted into a bicycle lane - here, car traffic had to be subordinated to bicycle traffic - and led back to Rudolfplatz.

In addition, those interested had the unique opportunity to book accompanied test rides at Rudolfplatz. These started directly in the public city traffic and made it possible to experience the vehicles for oneself in the real city environment.

Parallel to this, manufacturing and retail companies from various sectors presented their products in designated themed areas at the cityHUB. They explained the added value of their solutions for the city of the future - from smart city applications to pioneering traffic concepts for the last mile. Parallel to this, street food stands offered ample opportunity for open conversation about what had been experienced - in keeping with the social principle of the Mobilstation.

An all-day shuttle service between Rudolfplatz and Koelnmesse ensured that anyone who spontaneously decided to attend could also comfortably experience all the other highlights of the polisMOBILITY conference on the right bank of the Rhine.
