polisMOBILITY will no longer take place
polisMOBILITY expo & conference will no longer take place in future. After a thorough examination of all the general conditions, Koelnmesse has come to the decision not only to suspend the event in 2025, but to discontinue the format altogether.
Koelnmesse’s difficult decision has been prompted by the challenging market situation in the mobility sector. The uncertainties of the current political and economic operating environment have caused the sector to adopt a markedly cautious approach, which has also been reflected in the booking and registration trends for polisMOBILITY.
Many towns, cities and municipalities are faced with tight budgets and, in some cases, are imposing freezes on spending. This is also putting pressure on the private sector: tenders are not being issued; investment decisions are being postponed; and marketing budgets are being cut accordingly. At the same time, the global economic situation is causing increasing numbers of financially struggling OEMs and other major players to withdraw from the mobility sector. In addition, the potential positive impact of the infrastructure package planned by the German government is unclear at this stage.
The decision has not been an easy one for Koelnmesse. With that in mind, it is all the more important that we thank all our partners, exhibitors and supporters of the event for their commitment to date. Special thanks are due to the Müller + Busmann publishing house, which played a major role in developing the conference programme. We would also like to thank the Association of German Cities (DST), the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB) and the German Association of Local Public Utilities (VKU) for working with us in a spirit of partnership and trust.
