Call for examples of best practice

Good examples of the municipal transport turnaround wanted!

The groundwork is a successful transport turnaround, which is done in the cities, municipals and districts. Throughout the Republic more and more innovative administrations, transport companies and municipal companies are facing the challenges and are implementing creativity, courage and expertise to get custom-fit solutions off the ground.

CitySTAGE | polisMOBILITY | cities + regions

We want to provide these pioneers with a platform - and invite them to share both good and bad experiences, so we can learn from each other and inspire other cities and regions to follow suit.

We are thus looking for projects with model character for polisMOBILITY that successfully address the concrete challenges of the municipal transport turnaround!

Apply up until 15.02.2024 for a short lecture (15 minutes + discussion) on the citySTAGE.

We are looking forward to hearing about your valuable experiences and perspectives!

The Call for Best Practices is supported by the German Association of Cities and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities.

FAQ

When and where are the lectures taking place?

The lectures are taking place on the citySTAGE, the central formal in the heart of the cities + regions exhibition section, on all three days of the conference. The papers will be presented in three blocks spread over the conference days. Each block will include one best practice from each of the three categories.

A 30-minute slot is foreseen for each lecture, which is divided up as follows:

  • 15 minutes: Short lecture
  • 5 minutes: Questions & discussion
  • 10 minutes: Break & networking

What else you should know about the application

The digital application form asks about the essential contents of the best practice lecture. The structure outlined below (1-4) should apply for the 15-minute short lectures. The aim is to present a solution for a concrete challenge in an incisive manner.

  1. Starting point: What is the topic that the best practice focuses on? Which municipal/region is it about? Which players are involved? What is it important to know to understand the case?
  2. Challenge: What is the challenge at hand and how should it be solved?
  3. Solution: What have the players actually achieved? How were they able to contribute to solving the challenge as a result?
  4. 1-3 key learnings about the experience exchange: What do we learn from this for the municipal transport turnaround? What knowledge are we passing on to other players? What would we have liked to have known beforehand?

All applicants will be granted free admission to polisMOBILITY 2024 (four tickets per application). In principle, it is possible to reimburse the travel costs for speakers.

What is the schedule?

15.11.2023: Application period begins

15.02.2024: Application deadline

15.03.2024: Decision regarding selection will be communicated

10.04.2024: Announcement of citySTAGE programme
