TAXI DRIVING INNOVATION is the dialog format of the German taxi industry in cooperation with Telekom Deutschland. In its fourth year, the format is taking place in Cologne for the first time and is using the connection to polisMOBILITY to illuminate the taxi as part of the mobility world from different angles.

The focus will be on the taxi between diversity and unity in Europe. Together, we will question what the EU regulations from Urban Mobility Framework to Platform Work mean for the innovative services of mobility providers, what influence this has on cities and what it means concretely for people.

OCA Academy - Vulnerable road users
Date: 19.05.2022
Place: CC East Koelnmesse, Europa hall
Participation: Separate registration is required for participation in the Academy.

On May 19, 2022, the OCA will host its 11th OCA Academy event with a focus on "Vulnerable Road Users.”

Activities to promote new mobility concepts potentially pose risks to vulnerable road users. Improving the safety of vulnerable road users is the focus of urban transport considerations and is therefore currently a high priority. Specific measures to improve traffic safety require interdisciplinary interaction between traffic and vehicle technology. Concepts for this exist and will be applied more frequently in the future. All interested operators - also outside the OCA - will be shown the possibilities, but also the challenges as well as the state of the art in this exciting topic area through presentations from urban and industrial stakeholders.

Science meets City | Urban Mobility Transformation – Future Visions
Date: 20.05.2022
Location: CC-Ost Koelnmesse, Congress-Saal
Conference programme
Participation: Separate registration is required for participation in the symposium.

Today we are facing multiple challenges on how we are living and the way we use mobility. How can cities become more livable? How can urban spaces and urban mobility be designed to be sustainable and fit for the future?

The “Science meets City” symposium addresses the viewpoint of science within that area. The event focuses on modern urban infrastructure development, innovative mobility concepts and devices, as well as the collaboration between science, cities and citizens. Hamburg, Kyoto, Liege, Paris and Rotterdam serve as guiding examples focusing on the most pressing questions in urban mobility. A mixture of impulses and personal discussions creates the ideal basis for new ideas, contacts and cooperations.

The scientific symposium is realized with the support of the city of Cologne, KölnBusiness, the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and the Cologne Science Forum.

NaKoMo Workshop: Implementing Mobility Platforms – Discussion of lessons-learned and exchange of experiences
Date: 18.05.2022, 10.00 a.m. -1.15 p.m.
Location: Koelnmesse, Congress Centre East, Kristall hall
Participation: Separate registration is required for participation in the Workshop.

As part of the National Competence Network for Sustainable Mobility (Nationales Kompetenznetzwerk für nachhaltige Mobilität [NaKoMo]), workshops are organised on a regular basis to enable local authorities and stakeholders such as municipal transport organisations to exchange experiences and expertise. NaKoMo is the central platform for sustainable mobility at the federal, state and local levels. Its goal is to connect effectively stakeholders in the area of sustainable mobility.

The workshop "Implementing Mobility Platforms – Discussion of lessons-learned and exchange of experiences” is devoted to the joint project Mobility Inside, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Digitalisation and Transportation (BMDV) under the funding program ”Digitalisation of Municipal Transport Systems” (Förderrichtlinie “Digitalisierung kommunaler Verkehrssysteme” [DkV]). The project aims to create a nationwide platform for the public transport sector to which municipal transport systems can connect their mobility-apps. In addition to a keynote speech by the Association of German Transport Companies (Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen [VDV]), best practices from the Mobility Inside project are presented. The second part of the event focuses on exchanging ideas and discussing possibilities and challenges of mobility platforms and industry-wide initiatives. Participants are invited to contribute to identifying solutions and potentials.

The event is intended primarily for employees in municipal transport companies and civic administrations. Registration by e-mail is required and open until 11 May 2022. The number of participants is limited.
