After the pilot phase for on-demand mobility in Rendsburg and the surrounding area, the NAH.SH transport association wants to roll out the project statewide.

To mark the second birthday of the ridepooling service remo (RendsburgMobil), the NAH.SH transport association has announced that it will continue to operate the shuttle service after the end of the project. It will then run under the umbrella brand NAH.SHUTTLE, which bundles the on-demand services in the state. So far, there are two other shuttle projects in Schleswig-Holstein: The Smarter DorfSHUTTLE in the Amt Süderbrarup shares the five vehicles with remo, which is only on the road at night. In the Mittleres Nordfriesland district, the Lüttbus replaced the existing call bus with a timetable and pre-booking by telephone in April 2023. Two new services are being planned in Dithmarschen and as part of the SMILE24 model project on the Schlei. NAH.SHUTTLE already offers a uniform booking option for the three shuttle projects. The app and the scheduling software currently come from ioki. After the end of the Rendsburg pilot project in 2024, there will be a new NAH.SHUTTLE app, the tender for which is currently being worked on. NAH.SH also wants to integrate the booking into its own local transport app.

Since September 2022, remo has also been the subject of accompanying research, which is investigating, among other things, whether and how on-demand transport can contribute to the mobility revolution, for example by improving the quality of life in rural areas and replacing car journeys. Tobias von der Heide, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Labour, Technology and Tourism of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, sees the balance of remo, with over 11,000 journeys and a pooling rate of 1.8, as a success: "The on-demand pilot project launched two years ago with remo in Rendsburg has now already proven itself as a future-proof new form of mobility in Schleswig-Holstein. So we are on the right track. The expansion of NAH.SHUTTLE throughout Schleswig-Holstein is a logical step in the direction of a transport turnaround".
