About Ascan Egerer
Ascan Egerer took over the Department of Mobility (III) as the new Alderman on November 1, 2021. He previously worked in Karlsruhe as Technical Managing Director of the municipal companies Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH (VBK) and Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG). Born in Helmstedt, he successfully completed his degree in civil engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig in 1997 and was already concentrating on the upcoming challenges in the transport sector. Ascan Egerer initially gained professional management and project experience in various areas of Deutsche Bahn AG, including as Managing Director and Head of Transport Operations at S-Bahn Hannover, DB Regio AG and in management positions at DB Regio NRW GmbH and its predecessor organization, DB Regionalbahn Rheinland in Cologne. In 2014, he then took on the role of Technical Managing Director at VBK and AVG.
