Description

In the course of the ITS World Congress in 2021, Hamburg has carried out and demonstrated numerous pilot projects. The resulting consequence is the introduction of a new strategy that initiates a rollout phase. In the course of this, digital services for Hamburg's citizens will be expanded and availability increased to meet the ever-growing demand. A significant component of this strategy is the use of automated shuttles, suburban trains and underground trains in local public transport. This enables expanded participation in mobility by different user groups and improves geographical availability. At the same time, the growing shortage of qualified drivers can be addressed. Hamburg will host the UITP World Congress in 2025 and 2027 and further expand the Hamburg Model Region for Mobility.
