Germany Ticket: The mission, disruption, the new sales reality

The political decision was to introduce a standardized public transport product throughout Germany and set the price. The basic idea is a good one, because it creates a simple product with a lot of potential. With the price set by the politics, the Deutschland-Ticket revolutionizes almost the entire tariff structure of public transport. Where in previous years user-financed public transport was clearly formulated as a political mandate to relieve the burden on public budgets, now the service is completely decoupled from the price; which also cannibalizes almost all existing subscription models in public transport. New sales models and ticket offers are needed to make the Deutschland-Ticket a lasting success nationwide and thus limit the loss of revenue. How did the negotiations in the VMKs go and what does the future of the Deutschland-Ticket look like from the point of view of key players at federal and state level? How is the industry dealing with this and how is it preparing for the distribution of the future?
