Public Communication and Citizen Participation as a Foundation for a Successful Mobility Transition: Workshop-part I

  • DE
  • Mobility turnaround
  • Municipal Mobility Transition

Description

The particular challenge of the transport transition lies in the fact that the necessary changes have a direct impact on people's everyday lives. This is a transformation process that can therefore only be successful together with the people. But how can communication and citizen participation succeed in such a multi-layered and challenging transformation process as the mobility turnaround? How can we take courageous steps toward a transport transition together with citizens? How can a results-oriented dialog be established between concerns, fears and reservations on the one hand and wishes, expectations and requirements on the other? We will address these questions in a two-part workshop.

Part I:

In a keynote speech (no registration required), Frank Zimmermann (ifok GmbH) will address the following topics against the background of his very broad experience both in the field of citizen participation and in the topic of mobility transition, and will then be available to answer questions:

Communication as the first stage of citizen participation

Successful communication of the mobility transition: Experiences from practice

Co-designing citizen participation: Interaction between citizens, administration and politics

What is (good) citizen participation?

What questions do I need to answer in advance to ensure that participation processes succeed?

Does citizen participation require a new way of working on the part of the administration?

Good examples and bad experiences: What has worked and where do stumbling blocks lurk?

Is it all a question of format? Between participation of the "usual suspects" and random selection

In the subsequent workshop-part (registration required*), topics and questions from the input will be taken up and there will be room for a moderated exchange.
